Site Survey, Requirements and Fixed-Price Estimates
We begin every commercial AV project with a measured site survey and technical requirements capture. The survey documents room dimensions, sight-lines, electrical and data provision, and existing plant (HVAC, risers, ceiling voids). Deliverables: annotated floor plans, line-of-sight diagrams for screens, speaker coverage sketches and a written scope. Decision points you’ll make at this stage: target SPL and coverage for sound systems, preferred LED pixel pitch or TV sizes for screens, and how many independent audio/video zones you need. We provide fixed-price estimates for the agreed scope; where system options exist (for example different amplifier or screen vendors) the estimate will include clear trade-offs in performance, footprint and budget. Common risks we highlight early: insufficient cable pathways, overloaded consumer-grade power circuits, and restrictive landlord or planning constraints — these are addressed in the survey report with mitigation options and costed allowances.
System Design: Acoustic, Visual and Control Integration
System design translates the survey into technical deliverables. For audio we produce speaker placement diagrams, predicted coverage maps and a recommended amplification and DSP architecture — using industry-standard modelling to size subwoofers, mains and delay speakers for even coverage. For visual systems we specify screen types (LED video panels vs commercial displays), resolution, mounting and sight-line optimisation. We include control system design detailing touch panels, wall-plates and automation routines for multi-source switching (satellite/IPTV/streaming) and scheduling. If your project requires a known brand, we can specify Martin Audio, RCF, JBL, Powersoft and Chauvet products where appropriate; brand choices are accompanied by why they suit the application (for example RCF for discreet high-performance bar installs). Deliverables: BOM with itemised components, rack elevation drawings, control logic flowcharts and an installation specification suitable for planning or landlord approval.
Professional Installation, Commissioning and Handover
Installation is executed by qualified engineers to the design specification and current UK electrical and building regulations. Work includes project cabling (CAT6/HD over IP fibre/HDMI with extenders), loudspeaker mounting and suspension, LED screen assembly and safe rigging, lighting installation and DMX wiring. Commissioning is technical: we level and tune multi-zone sound systems, calibrate EQs and delay for intelligibility; verify screen colour and pixel alignment on video walls; and test control sequences for user simplicity. Handover deliverables include as-fitted drawings, control system user guides, source mapping, serial numbers and tested test reports. Training for operational staff is scheduled as part of handover so venue managers can operate zones, playlists and event-day configurations without relying on engineers for routine changes.
LED Video Walls, Digital Signage and LED Pixel Systems — Choices & Constraints
Choosing LED video walls or digital signage involves technical trade-offs: viewing distance vs pixel pitch, brightness for daytime-facing sites, weight and structural loading, and maintenance access for module replacement. We calculate optimal pixel pitch for your average viewing distance and advise whether a tiled commercial television solution or a bespoke LED panel is more cost-effective. For bespoke LED pixel systems (pixel-mapped decorative features) we design control systems and playback workflows, often integrating media servers and lighting consoles for synchronized effects. Constraints we evaluate: load-bearing capabilities of walls, service access for module replacement, network bandwidth for content distribution and the requirement for surge and lightning protection on external displays.
Lighting, Effects and Nightclub Sound Systems — Safety & Performance
For hospitality and nightclub projects we combine architectural and performance lighting with purpose-built sound systems. Our lighting design specifies wash/follow fixtures, DMX addressing and rigging points; we ensure effect fixtures have suitable power and heat clearance and comply with local licence conditions. For dancefloor and live-performance areas we specify appropriate loudspeaker arrays, subwoofer configuration and a control chain including limiters and system protection to prevent license breaches and protect hearing. We coordinate with structural engineers where roof rigging is required and provide documentation for safety sign-off, PAT testing and any required liaison with local authorities or licensing teams.
System Integration, Networking and Future-Proofing
Modern commercial AV relies heavily on networking. We design AV-over-IP topologies, VLAN strategies, and recommend appropriate managed switches, PoE provisioning and network segmentation so AV traffic does not conflict with venue IT. Integration considerations include streaming sources, multi-screen distribution, and remote monitoring for fault detection. To future-proof systems we provide modular rack designs and spare capacity allowances in power and network ports, and specify media servers or control platforms that can accept firmware upgrades and additional license keys for extra channels. Deliverables: network diagrams, IP address plan, recommended switch models and a commissioning checklist for IT handover.
Maintenance, Support Contracts and Service Centre Repairs
We supply a range of maintenance options to keep commercial AV performing reliably: scheduled visits for listening checks and lamp/LED wear inspections, remote health monitoring where network access is available, and rapid-response SLAs for critical failures. Repairable components are handled through our service and repair centre; we provide parts replacement and authorised warranty handling where applicable. When choosing a maintenance level consider venue opening hours (overnight access windows for on-site work), acceptable SLA response times for critical systems (e.g. sports-day screens) and whether you require stocked spare modules on-site. Contracts include clear scope (what is covered), response times, and annual review to update firmware and replace consumables.
Trade Sales, Spare Parts and Training for In-House Teams
We support trade customers with supply of professional AV equipment and genuine spare parts. When handing systems to in-house technical teams we provide operational training, maintenance checklists and optional train-the-trainer sessions so routine tasks (source switching, basic EQ, scheduling content) can be completed without external help. For customers who prefer in-house repairs, we can supply recommended spares lists and offer periodic calibration services to maintain consistent performance.
