The control brief should list user roles, room modes, sources, zones, schedules, permissions and the actions required during normal service or events. Feedback and error states should be clear, with sensible defaults and recovery behaviour. Commissioning tests each preset, scheduled action and integrated device under realistic use.

Source code, configuration files, licences, administrator access and backups form part of a maintainable control system. Handover distinguishes daily operation from authorised technical settings. Change records and remote support options can reduce recovery time and prevent later work from undoing a stable configuration.
