Rudy's Pizza Soho AV Installation

Pro Technical was engaged to provide a zoned background music solution for Rudy's Pizza in Soho. The venue required independent control of music level across multiple areas so staff could adjust zone volumes while maintaining consistent background coverage for casual dining.

The project required separate area-level control without altering source distribution for the whole venue. Achieving even, unobtrusive background coverage across distinct dining and circulation areas — while giving staff simple local control — was the primary operational requirement for the installation.

Design choices followed the verified brief: to provide per-area volume control with reliable, hospitality-friendly hardware. To deliver independent zone level control Pro Technical specified Cloud Electronics zoner mixers. The Cloud zoner mixers were selected because the documented evidence for this project confirms their use to control area volumes. For loudspeaker coverage the project used JBL Professional loudspeakers; the installation evidence records JBL Professional as the venue loudspeaker brand for background music.

The installed architecture used a centralised source distribution feeding multiple zone outputs. Cloud Electronics zoner mixers provided independent per-zone level control; their zone outputs were connected to distributed JBL Professional loudspeakers located throughout the venue. This arrangement kept source switching and content management centralised while allowing staff to adjust the attenuation of each area independently via the zoner outputs.

Pro Technical carried out the physical installation of the Cloud zoner mixers and the JBL loudspeakers. Works included rack mounting of the zoner hardware, routing of balanced audio and speaker cabling to each zone, and mounting and aiming of loudspeakers to achieve even, low-level background coverage appropriate for a casual dining environment. All hardware installation followed standard industry wiring and mounting practice for commercial hospitality venues.

Commissioning focussed on verifying zoner functionality and establishing appropriate background listening levels. Pro Technical calibrated zone attenuation settings, tested source switching and confirmed that staff-accessible controls provided the required independent per-area adjustment. Commissioning validated that the Cloud zoner controls operated as intended and that JBL loudspeaker placement delivered consistent background coverage across the defined zones.

The completed installation provides Rudy's Pizza Soho with a zoned background music system in which Cloud Electronics zoner mixers enable independent control of area volumes and JBL Professional loudspeakers deliver even background audio coverage. Commissioning confirmed correct zoner operation and appropriate listening levels for the venue's hospitality environment.
